THE SERGEANT DIDN’T KNOW WHO WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF HIM

A few minutes later, Tom’s radio suddenly crackled.

“Sergeant Davis, respond immediately.”

Tom grabbed it.

“What is it?”

The voice on the radio sounded serious.

“Command is requesting your location.”

Tom frowned.

“Why?”

A pause.

Then:

“Just respond.”

Something in Tom’s expression changed.

He looked at Sarah again.

For the first time, there was uncertainty.

Because somehow…

someone already knew.

Sarah watched him carefully.

She had not made a single phone call.

She had not announced who she was.

She had simply observed.

And that was the part Tom didn’t understand.

The woman standing in front of him wasn’t just an angry citizen.

She was someone who knew exactly how investigations worked.

Someone who knew how corrupt officers operated.

Someone who knew how to build a case.

Tom stepped toward her.

“Who are you?”
