Daniel leaned over the hospital bed, kissing his forehead. “You took them here, Emily. The doctors here are the best, and those kids are fighters. We just have to trust the process.”

At dawn the next morning, Emily was taken to the large operating room. The room was packed with nearly thirty medical professionals, each assigned to a specific role. Nine separate neonatal resuscitation stations were aligned at the perimeter of the room, each equipped with a hot incubator, oxygen supply and dedicated medical equipment.

Dr. Harrison, along with a renowned maternal-fetal specialist, began the delicate procedure.
